LOL I have to laugh! I love Uncle Kracker and while he was in Allentown he told us a funny story~ If he only knew how funny it was to us LOL years ago Billy Joel wrote a song called Allentown about how all the steel mills had been closing down in the 40s and 50s ...so he tells us he grew up feeling bad for us all our factories had closed etc... and then he pulls up into town and has to park his tour bus next to a halfway house and he hopes his hubcaps are still on when he goes back out to it......
Ok from a fan to Uncle Kracker...
1. yes that is Allentown and you better not worry about your hubcaps...you'll be lucky if your bus is still there LOL <---never park a nice vehicle in that area LOL
2. Ironically one of the big Steel mills that went down way back when in the area was Bethlehem steel who had plants in A-town AND Bethlehem..they all moved down south and then later was sold to countries overseas--well last year Sands built their casino finally--they had planned to build for years on the old Bethlehem steel site--what took them so long to build it? yes they had wait for the casino laws to go through...but even then it took another 2 years...why? They couldn't get steel--meanwhile they are located right on the site of one the biggest steel mills that ever exsisted in this country LOL
Ok so maybe its not amusing to the general public..but as a fan and listening to his story--it struck a chord even closer then you realize LOL
