The concert last night was at an outdoor venue on the waterfront. Since we drove in from out of town, we were unaware of the tornado warning in the local area. It
did look gloomy and stormy, but we are from Ohio so we are used to crappy weather and don't let it slow us down.
The warning in the Louisville areav was from 7pm to 10pm and the concert was supposed to start at 9PM. Before the concert, we went to Fourth Street Live having dinner
and anxiously waited. We called a cab and his instructions were to take us to the concert entrance. As we were driving, he promptly told us that he had ten Red Bulls and had
but awake for 38 hours straight! We were obviously concerned that this man was driving us speeding down the streets of downtown Louisville and OBLIVIOUS to the storm brewing outside. When we
pulled up to the front of the concert, we quickly paid and exited, only to find ourselves standing alone...there was no one to bee seen for MILES. The winds were howling,
so we decided to go into the venue, and stand under the highway overpass. After a few minutes, the skies started to clear so we walked
around to see where the concert would have been as we considered our predicament.
The only number we had to call was the number of the "Red Bull" cab driver. So we dialed him up and were told he'd be there
in 20 minutes. The skies were clearing, so we walked down to the stage and climbed up on it and started checked things out. I figured if I couldn't see Matt, that I would see what he would
have seen. It is such a bummer that UK had to cancel last night. That was really a cool setting and I really think that he would have enjoyed singing up there. Directly behind the stage was the Ohio River, with a view of a huge bridge. Tug
boats and barges were cruising along the water and an incredible breeze blowing through the stage. After "Red Bull/ Crazy Cab" guy picked us up, we went back to the hotel, changed and dried off and tried to make the best of the
rest of the night.
So once again, my attempt to see UK in concert was foiled. This is my third attempt to see him in concert. It seems that the Universe is blocking me
from seeing him in person. I'm not really sure why. I've been on a mission to see him ever since he was playing
with Train in Cleveland last year. I've been a fan for ten years. I just don't get it.
