Web.com Tour Championship announces Uncle Kracker to headline Military Appreciation concert
Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – The Web.com Tour Championship announced today that multi-platinum artist Uncle Kracker will be performing at TPC Sawgrass on Friday, October 2 following second-round play. The Web.com Tour Championship is the culminating event of the Web.com Tour Finals and returns to Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass from October 1-4.
Initially known for his role as DJ in Kid Rock’s legendary Twisted Brown Trucker band, Uncle Kracker soon kicked off a stunning solo career of his own. The Detroit-based singer/songwriter made his solo debut with 2001’s #1 smash, “Follow Me,” kicking off a run of top 10 multi-format hits like “In A Little While,” “Smile,” and of course, 2003’s record-setting cover of Dobie Gray’s classic “Drift Away.”
“We are excited and ready to play a great show at TPC Sawgrass,” Uncle Kracker said, “Supporting the Web.com Tour Championship and what it does for the military is something that we are proud to be a part of.”
The Friday night concert will once again be presented by Legacy Trust Family Wealth Offices, a Founding Partner of the Web.com Tour Championship. The concert will take place on the back lawn of the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse.
“We are thrilled to return as a sponsor of the Web.com Tour Championship and Military Appreciation Day concert,” said Legacy Trust CEO and Chairman, Kristin McLauchlan. “This tournament is not only important to the golfers vying for their PGA TOUR cards but to our community and its strong military contingent. We urge everyone to come out to TPC Sawgrass on Friday of tournament week for a fantastic performance by Uncle Kracker.”
The Web.com Tour Championship will feature the top-75 money winners at the end of the Web.com Tour regular season as well as the PGA TOUR players who finish 126-200 on the FedExCup points. All PGA TOUR cards will be finalized at the Web.com Tour Championship, making the Web.com Tour the path to the PGA TOUR.
